Blood pressure check

Blood pressure check

Blood pressure can be influenced by various external or bodily factors. Blood pressure that is too high or too low can have adverse effects on health. To detect these changes at an early stage, it is important to check your blood pressure regularly.

Blood pressure readings of no more than 120/80 are optimal when physically at rest. Readings of up to 139/89 are still within the normal range. Blood pressure readings above 140/80 are referred to as hypertension (high blood pressure).

High blood pressure is a common condition in society. Risk factors include smoking, an unhealthy diet, being overweight and lack of exercise. A family history is also a risk factor for high blood pressure.

High blood pressure is often asymptomatic. Initial measures to lower blood pressure include changing your lifestyle by getting sufficient exercise and losing weight, as well as avoiding alcohol and nicotine. Regular blood pressure checks make it possible to document changes in blood pressure effectively.

The St. Johann Pharmacy team offers you the possibility of having your blood pressure measured on site, at a price of CHF 5 per measurement. Come by and ask us! We are happy to help you!
